Getting started.
Voloteca is deliberately low-ceremony — this page is most of what there is to know. Full documentation grows here as the app does.
1. Pick a library folder
On first launch, choose where your library lives. Any folder works — an internal disk, an external drive, or a NAS mount. If the drive is disconnected later, Voloteca waits gracefully and offers to re-locate it.
2. Plug in your card
Insert the SD card or connect the drone in mass-storage mode. Voloteca detects removable media, asks once whether to remember it as a source, and imports videos, photos and telemetry. Remembered sources auto-import on every reconnect (toggleable per device in Settings). There's also Import folder for one-off imports from disk.
3. Flights group themselves
Footage snaps into takeoff-to-landing flights by capture time. Titles and notes are yours to edit and are never overwritten by re-grouping. Clips with SRT telemetry get a route on the map and a live mini-map during playback.
Backups
Settings → Database backup snapshots the metadata database (flights, titles, notes — not your media) and can restore it later. Media backup to your own S3/WebDAV target is per flight via the Sync button.
Where things live
- Media: your chosen library folder, in plain files and folders.
- Metadata DB + config: the platform app-data directory.
- Logs: shown in Settings → About (attach these to bug reports).
